Effective Prayer and Fasting                           Room # 115

Prayer is the foundation of everything accomplished for the kingdom of God. Without prayer, we are reduced to our human strength, wisdom and resources.  With prayer, we take hold of God’s divine strength, wisdom and resources.  Prayer is hard work therefore effort is needed to perform it .  Effective prayer produces answers! If you are weak in your prayer life or don’t know how to pray effectively, then I guarantee this class is for you.

John                                                                                     Fellowship Hall

The author of this Gospel was not only one of the twelve apostles, it can be reasonably inferred from Scripture that his mother was Salome, the sister of Mary, the mother of Jesus. This means that John was also a first cousin of Jesus.  It is generally believed that John wrote his account of the gospel about A.D. 96 - 98. According to early Christian sources, John was exiled from Ephesus to the Island of Patmos by the Roman Emperor Domitian in A.D. 95. Less than two years later, after Nerva became the Emperor, John was released from Patmos and returned to Ephesus. There, as an elderly man, he wrote the Gospel which bears his name. However, he never referred to himself by name in his Gospel, choosing instead to identify himself simply as "the disciple," "that other disciple," or "the disciple whom Jesus loved."  We will discover great spiritual richness as we explore this gospel.

Defending Your Faith                                                     Room # 212

Every day we meet people who are lost without faith in Jesus. But everyone does believe in something. They may believe in the theory of evolution, the Koran, or the book of Mormon. As believers we should equip ourselves to effectively minister in any situation. I believe this starts with accurately understanding the people around us. We will discuss groups outside the church as well some divisive subjects like Calvinism and the Seeker Sensitive Movement. Together we will  learn how to better "Defend Our Faith".
